I just released SnappyNotes 2.0, a full rebuild of my sidebar notepad for macOS and iOS. It's a notepad that lives at the edge of your screen and opens with a gesture, so you can jot something down without ever leaving the app you're working in.
This update brings live-preview Markdown editing, images, math and diagrams, a slash command menu, a floating notes window, and a fresh app icon.
Problem
I kept losing quick thoughts because opening a "real" notes app always meant switching context, waiting for it to load, and finding where I left off. I wanted something that felt closer to a scratchpad than an app, but still let me write proper Markdown, drop in an image or a quick diagram, and not lose any of it.
SnappyNotes sits at the side of your screen and slides in the moment you need it. You can:

this is a good shape for a scratchpad app. the detail i'd make very obvious on the site/onboarding is where the notes live and that they are normal .md files. for quick-capture tools, people worry less about markdown features and more about whether their random thoughts will get trapped in yet another app silo.
