Hey there, from the perspective of a dev, I understand that you want to know more but "complete information" is very individual and simply impossible to cover. You want to know how old is the project, what's the update plan and how many apps have been done previously, others might want completely different information. Pricing should always be included and that's already part of the rules. This is what replying is for. It's my duty as the developer to answer your questions when I post about my app.
Probably add if the app was done using all AI or if you personally coded it.
Machine optimization tools can help a lot. I don’t mind developers using LLMs. I want to know the developer behind it and their history. My data is valuable and my privacy is important.
Oh, I agree. AI can help a great deal. But people with no coding knowledge can vibecode an app, put it up for sale, never update it, and leave it full of security flaws. I’ve dealt with two “developers” on separate apps who had no idea what they were doing. They simply vibecoded an app. One was being promoted here a month or so ago for $25, yet it’s never been updated, the developer has gone completely silent, and the app is a broken mess. That’s why it’s important to know whether the person behind an app actually understands what they’re doing or if they’re just trying to make a quick dollar on something they’ll never maintain.

I completely agree that pricing should always be included. Beyond that, I think responsive communication are even stronger indicators of a trustworthy app. New developers can build excellent software too—the important part is showing users that you're committed to maintaining it over time.
I think a simple posting template would solve most of this. Something like: Pricing (and whether it’s one-time or subscription) Project age Update frequency/roadmap Open source or closed source Privacy policy Previous apps (if any) Having “no previous apps” shouldn’t count against someone, but being transparent about it helps users make an informed decision.
Yes and at the same time if you have previous well maintained apps I see more value in supporting them.
Good comment. I'm in the process of creating three small apps (totally vibe-coding them -- 60 year old sales guy here) that solve issues or interests that I have. Really, the only reason to release them on the app store is hoping that someone has the same niche interest I do! They will alway be self contained as I really don't trust my processes with people's data..... I don't know enough to check AI's answers. My plan is to release them in either a totally free or freemium model but I like your point about updating. Personally I'll be doing that anyway as I find bugs but I also love the idea of users using your app and coming up with ways of using it that I hadn't thought of :)
